Knitting as therapy
what have you made that was just healing?
I made this at a time when I couldn’t do anything else, hardly. I love wearing it because it reminds me that I can make things, even at the worst times.
ever been so keen to wear your project that you put it on, and THEN finish off the little bits? haha! this is me knitting the side vents onto Santorini, by Rowan
first pair of socks, successfully knitted! (knit? knat?) easy once you get used to the fiddly little sock needles, which feel like toothpicks until your hands adjust.
made for my first reddit Knit Along
handmade mittens made with Oblio wool
this wool was my first major purchase when I was getting into knitting- I fell in love with it and decided that I HAD to have it. years later, I had still not used it, because it’s so beautiful I was scared to waste it. now I have finally made something out of it, and they’re amazing!
why do I love anything with bees on?
probably because it reminds me of my uncle. he keeps bees, and we never leave his house without having jars of honey pressed on us as we leave. and sometimes, amazingly, honeycomb.
got a shoe storage bag for four quid…now my stash is somewhat sorted! just need to decide what to do with all this wool.
(seriously, anyone got any patterns for brushed wool?)
knitting problems: when your wrist hurts, your shoulder aches, you have cracks in your fingertips- and you still don’t want to stop knitting!
‘oh, you know, just hanging around…’
